Portfolio Monitoring - Tracking Specific Trademarks

What Is Portfolio Monitoring?

Portfolio Monitoring lets you track specific trademarks by adding them to organized collections called portfolios. Each trademark you add is actively monitored for changes, deadlines, and legal activity.

Common Use Cases

Portfolio Type	Use Case
Client Portfolios	Track each client's trademarks in separate portfolios for organized management
Your Own Marks	Monitor your company's registered and pending trademarks
Competitive Watch	Track specific competitor marks you want to follow closely
Acquisition Targets	Monitor marks you're considering purchasing

Creating a Portfolio

Navigate to Portfolios in the sidebar
Click Create Portfolio
Enter a name (e.g., "Acme Corp - Active Marks")
Optionally add a description
Click Create

Adding Trademarks to a Portfolio

You can add trademarks in several ways:

From Search Results - Click the portfolio icon on any trademark card
From Trademark Detail Page - Use the "Add to Portfolio" button
Bulk Import - Add multiple serial numbers at once

What Gets Monitored

Once a trademark is in your portfolio, GleanMark automatically monitors for:

Alert Type	What Triggers It
Legal Status Changes	Registration, abandonment, office actions, publication
Deadlines	Renewals, statements of use, office action responses (30, 7, 1 day warnings)
TTAB Proceedings	Oppositions or cancellations filed against the mark
Ownership Changes	Assignments, transfers, mergers
Similar Marks	New applications that resemble your monitored marks

Managing Alert Settings

You can configure alerts at two levels:

Portfolio Defaults - Set default alert preferences for all trademarks in the portfolio
Individual Overrides - Customize settings for specific trademarks

To access alert settings:

Open your portfolio
Click Alert Settings (gear icon)
Toggle alert types on/off
Choose delivery: Immediate or Weekly Digest
