Managing Portfolio Alert Settings

Portfolio Alert Settings Overview

Configure which alerts you receive for trademarks in your portfolios and how they're delivered. You can set defaults for an entire portfolio or customize settings for individual trademarks.

Accessing Portfolio Alert Settings

Navigate to Portfolios in the sidebar
Select a portfolio
Click the Alert Settings button (gear icon)

Available Alert Types

Alert Type	Default	Description
Legal Status Changes	ON	Registration, abandonment, office actions, publication
Deadlines	ON	Renewals, statements of use, office action responses
TTAB Proceedings	ON	Oppositions and cancellations against your marks
Ownership Changes	OFF	Assignments and transfers of ownership
Similar Marks	OFF	New applications that resemble your marks

Delivery Options

Choose how you want to receive alerts:

Option	Best For
Immediate	Critical alerts (deadlines, TTAB) - receive as soon as detected
Weekly Digest	Status updates, similar marks - consolidated weekly summary

Portfolio Defaults vs Individual Overrides

Alert settings work on two levels:

Portfolio Defaults - Apply to all trademarks in the portfolio
Individual Overrides - Customize settings for specific trademarks

Setting Portfolio Defaults

Open your portfolio
Click Alert Settings
Configure your preferences
Click Save

All trademarks in this portfolio will inherit these settings.

Overriding for a Specific Trademark

Open the trademark detail page
Click Alert Settings
Toggle Use Custom Settings on
Configure the overrides
Click Save

This trademark will use its custom settings instead of portfolio defaults.

Recommended Settings by Use Case

Use Case	Recommended Settings
Your Own Marks	All alerts ON, Immediate delivery for Deadlines & TTAB
Client Portfolios	Status, Deadlines, TTAB ON; Ownership & Similar as needed
Competitive Watch	Status & Similar ON; Deadlines less critical
