What Is Owner Tracking?

Owner Tracking monitors entire companies by their USPTO owner name. Instead of tracking individual trademarks, you track the entity—and receive alerts about all their trademark activity.

How to Track an Owner

Navigate to Owners in the sidebar
Search for the company by name
Click Track Owner on the owner card
The owner is now being monitored—you'll receive alerts for all their activity

Finding the Right Owner

USPTO owner names can vary. Tips for accurate tracking:

Search for variations ("Apple Inc." vs "Apple Incorporated")
Check the owner's trademark portfolio to confirm it's the right entity
Large companies may have multiple owner records for subsidiaries

Owner Alert Types

When you track an owner, you can receive alerts for:

Alert Type	What Triggers It
New Applications	Owner files a new trademark application
Assignments	Trademarks are transferred to or from this owner
Owner Info Changes	Name, address, or entity type changes
Trademark Milestones	Registration, renewal, abandonment, cancellation
TTAB Activity	Owner is party to an opposition or cancellation proceeding
Citation Alerts	Owner's marks are cited against other applicants

Configuring Owner Alerts

Customize which alerts you receive:

Go to Settings → Owner Alert Settings
Set your default preferences for all tracked owners
Optionally override settings for specific owners

Delivery Options

Immediate - Get notified as soon as activity is detected
Weekly Digest - Receive a consolidated summary each week
